Sailng World Tech Review by Dave Reed
The catamarans, the wings, and the foils may be new to the America's Cup, but so, too, is most of the sailing gear now required to keep crews warm and protected. Then there's critical safety gear, the importance of which was emphasized by pre-Cup training capsizes by Oracle and Artemis Racing. now required and as an essential element to an AC34 crewmember's battle gear, developed during Oracle's early AC72 training-Safety Knife the preference is for a fixed, straight blade (similiar to the Colonial knife Mark 1 navy deck knife)

because a serrated blade can't effectively cut a slack line, and a foldable knife could be problematic if the sailor is trapped. Some crewmembers also carry "hook" blades such as the Tat Cutter -that allow them to cut through netting.

TSA approved- the Tat Cutter neck knife-with break away ball chain- the perfect choice for active adventures-
